

Stephen Andrew Dias, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 56. Born on November 29, 1967, in Houston, Stephen was known for his selfless nature and tireless work ethic. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the time of day or night, and found great joy in assisting others.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly King Dias; his mother, Patsy Barker Dias; and his stepmother, Betty Dias. He is also survived by his father-in-law, David King. Steve was a devoted father to his children: Carlos Garay, Zachary Herrera (Jaci), Katie Raydon (Derek), and Brandon Dias (Karregan). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: James Garay, Cash Garay, Kenslie Knors, Joslynn Herrera, Claire Herrera, Charlie Herrera, Liv Raydon, Emorea Dias, and Jedediah Dias.
He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Bruce Dias (Ladonnah), Debbie Byrd (Wayne), Jerry Barker, and Jessica Scroggins (Carey), as well as his brother-in-law, David King Jr. (Rhea). Stephen was also a proud uncle to Madelyn King, Khloe King, David King III(Trey), Lauren James, Andrew Byrd, Caleb Byrd, Charles Byrd, Oakland Barker, and Callie Jane Scroggins.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Dias; his infant daughter, Toni Marie Dias; and his mother-in-law, Diane King.
Steve attended MacArthur High School in the Aldine Independent School District, where he first began to develop his entrepreneurial spirit. He went on to become a self-employed businessman, owning and operating several businesses including I'll Do It Towing, I'll Do It Transport, and I'll Do It Roofing. His early employment included Sign Connection, and Schular and Wholt Sign Co. His ventures reflected his diverse interests and his knack for hands-on service. Even his brief stint as a school bus driver for a day showcased his willingness to embrace varied experiences.
His personal life was enriched by his faith, having grown up attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His hobbies were as varied as his business interests, ranging from playing basketball in his youth to collecting classic cars and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He cherished world travels with his beloved wife. Their favorite destinations included Italy, South Africa, the Philippines, Singapore, Paris, and London, reflecting Steve's love for adventure and conversation with people from all walks of life.
Steve’s life was marked by his generosity, hard work, and love for his family and friends. His memory will be forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
