I met Sterling at Jesse H Jones High School in 1984. We shared some fun and hilarious experiences. I have known Sterling to be a very tough human being. He was always consistent and of good character. He has always been there for me in my most joyous and darkest times. He gave a 110% effort every down and every play. He left everything on the field.

This is so surreal. I will miss Sterling's strong opinions (even if they were wrong or we agreed to disagree ๐Ÿ˜Š). Sterling had a good sense of humor & often made me laugh when we would chat. My confidante & friend will be missed.๐Ÿ’›

I will remember Sterling as a respectful child who grew up to be a quiet young man of integrity. I last saw him at his motherโ€™s 75 birthday party. I was so glad to see him as we chatted about the family and my growing up with his mom. I told him that I had retired and that I was going to make his mother join me in retirement. He laughed and wished me luck in trying to get his mom to retire. I will always remember how happy he was that day. He was a young gifted black man that left us too soon.
