

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 21st starting at 2:00 PM at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, 5555 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, Texas 77030, phone: 713-639-4629. A private gathering room has been set aside for people to mingle and remember all the great things Steven brought to this world.
Steven entered this world on March 5, 1965 in Houston Texas. He was the 5th child born of Frank and Erika Dubec. He grew up in The Heights, attended Travis Elementary, Christ the King Catholic School, Hogg Jr. High, and Reagan Sr. High. He graduated in 1983.
Steven graduated from University of Houston with a Baccalaureate in Political Science in 1993. He graduated from South Texas College of Law on Dec. 15th, 1996 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Steven worked at Schlumberger for multiple years up to the time of his death.
Steven’s hobbies included chess, reading, philosophy, astronomy, traveling, foreign countries, ancient beliefs, and geology. His chess/debate/philosophy buddies and his Schlumberger family were very important to him. Steven was also a docent for the Houston Museum of Natural Science. His favorite place was San Isabel National Forest in Colorado.
Steven is survived by his sister, Annie Chamblee-Britton and husband, Roger; brother, Frankie and wife, Karen; brother, David and wife, Jeri; sister, Dolores and husband, Terry Coborn, and by nieces, April, Melissa, Jennifer, and Katrina, and nephews, Brian and Erik. Steven's parents, Frank and Erika, as well as Steven's 4-legged best friend, Sheba, preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in honor of Steven be made to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, c/o Dolores Dubec, 1910 Cherry Laurel, Spring, Texas 77386.
