

Steven Keith Shepley, a native Houstonian, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on April 19, 1957, Steven was known for his adventurous spirit and kind-hearted nature. He was beloved by all who knew him for his honesty, loyalty, and generous, gentle demeanor.
Growing up in Spring Branch, Steven enlisted in the Army and served his country bravely at Fort Hood. In 1987, he moved to New York with his first wife, Sharon Pomasanoff, where he started his successful "Honey-Do-List" company, specializing in handyman work and remodeling jobs. In 2005, he relocated back to Houston, bringing his company with him. That same year, he met his second wife, Ashley Vaughan, with whom he shared many adventures over their 20 years together.
Steven is survived by his wife, Ashley Vaughan; his son, Brandon Shepley and his wife Lucy; his daughter, Kaelin Shepley Aramini and her husband Jason; his mother, Barbara Hagan Shepley; his brother, Gary Shepley; his sister, Suzanne Shepley Gear and her husband Bruce; grand-daughters, Elizabeth Shepley Coffey and her husband Dan, and Bella Shepley; great-grandson, Braydon Coffey; nephews, Dillon Gear and Mason Gear, and numerous cousins.
Steve loved traveling around the world, sampling exotic foods, and making friends wherever he went. He was a great chef, having started cooking at the young age of 6 or 7, and his passion for food was well-known among his friends and family. He lived in various places, including Houston, Texas; Long Island, New York; Farnham, England; Godalming, England; Helsingor, Denmark; and most recently, Aiken, South Carolina.
During his time in New York, Steve was a proud member and firefighter for the Eastport, NY Fire Department, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant and courageously led his team in the fight against the famous Long Island Wildfires.
Steven's selfless nature and humorous personality made him the life of the party and he was the bright light in any room. He will be remembered for his compassion, patience, and hard-working spirit.
A memorial service will be held at Waltrip Funeral Directors, located at 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas, on August 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm. The service will also be available via live stream at https://vimeo.com/event/5294464.
