

Sue was born in San Antonio, TX in 1941 and grew up in Brownsville, TX. She attended the University of Texas in Austin where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and an Advisor at Kinsolving Dormitory. She graduated with a degree in Special Education in 1963. She taught speech therapy and special education in Odessa, Irving and lastly in Houston for the Aldine Independent School District. She retired in 2006.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading/listening to books, gardening, her family and friends, travel and volunteering her time. She liked to stay busy. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a Sunday School teacher at St. Stephens First United Methodist Church, an active member of the Inwood Forest HOA and a volunteer for Mended Hearts after she experienced some heart issues in 2000.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Charles; mother, Jewel; brother, Allan; and Wayne Baxter. She is survived by her 2 children: daughter, Lisa Brown and husband, Jim Brown and son, Brooks Baxter as well as her 3 grandchildren, Mariana Baxter, Trey and Kaitlyn Brown. Others are sister-in-law, Joyce Brooks; nephews, Michael Brooks and wife, Val and Tod Brooks and wife, Susie; cousins, Gwen Clouthier, Jan Munyon and Dale Harris; and many, many friends and “second” children.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 4 at 10:00am at the Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060.
