Sue (Huddleston) Bratton

Sue was born in Hillsboro, TX to Fannie Bell and Guy Huddleston. She married while living in Austin, TX to John Marshall Bratton, III who preceded her in death July, 1991. They were married 34 years. Sue is the loving sister of Ann Heckman of Granby, CO.

Sue lived in Spring Branch and raised 4 children. She is survived by daughter Debra Bratton of Cypress, son Mike and Cyndee Bratton from Mandeville, LA, and their 3 children Derek Bratton and Amanda Graham, Joel and Natalie Bratton, and Holly and Scott Kay. She is survived by son David and Candy Bratton from Katy, TX and their children Vincent and Stephanie Bratton, Michael Engle, and Steven Engle, and son Scott and Terry Bratton from Katy, TX and their daughter Kristin and Kristopher Oroz. Sue is a Great Grandmother of 10.

Sue worked in the Spring Branch School district for over 30 years and volunteered in the Special Resources classes. She was a Texas Longhorn enthusiast and even had the fight song as her incoming phone ring. Sue and various friends traveled around Texas, in her car, taking pictures of over 100 courthouses. She loved all things Texas! Sue was involved with Second Baptist church on Voss as Social Coordinator of her Sunday School class and Second Stitchers for many years. She played bridge and Mexican train with the same group of women for 40 years.

Sue was a good friend and neighbor to all her knew her. A wonderful wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Family and friends gathered and shared memories of this wonderful women during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024. The Reverend Perry Elders of Second Baptist Church officiated. Graveside services and interment followed at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Drive, also in Houston.
