

Sylvia was born on September 14th in Houston, TX, where she went to Pasadena High School and graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. In the last four decades of her life, she worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Professional. She was passionate about the work she did to provide the best information to healthcare professionals who ultimately helped patients in need. Sylvia was an ardent supporter of cancer groups like Susan B Komen, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the National Bone Donor Program.
In 2008, Sylvia found love again and remarried with Larry Prudhomme, expanding her family to include all the surviving Prudhomme family with joy and warmth, and with whom she formed lifelong bonds. Sylvia is also survived by her daughter, Gabriella Quintana, DVM, her sister Debbie Espinosa, her brother Charles Espinosa, her niece Ava Espinosa; She is also survived by her stepdaughter Kari Allison Casey, stepson’s Kristopher and Kasey Prudhomme in addition to her grandchildren, Graham Casey and Anna Cate Casey.
Sylvia is reunited, in spirit, with her beloved mother Dora Rojas Espinosa (92 yo), father Julian Espinosa (82 yo) and sister Julie Espinosa (6 yo), who preceded her in death. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of the family, and the bonds forged in love will continue to resonate in their lives.
Sylvia loved living on her ranch with Larry, her dogs Levi and Remi, her cat Roxie and horses, Dolly & Duke. She loved decorating the house and her land for every season which brought joy to her family and neighbors.
A celebration of Sylvia's life will be held on Friday, December 12th at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Service: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Graveside Service: 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM. A small reception will follow where family and friends are invited to share their memories and honor a remarkable woman who cherished her family above all else. For those who want to share their support by bringing finger food, please take them directly to the reception room.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to National Marrow Donor Program in Sylvia’s memory. If you would like to send a floral arrangement, Sylvia loved purple and can be sent directly to the funeral home.
Sylvia led a life to the fullest filled with love, laughter, and a strong commitment to those who surrounded her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love will endure. Please honor her memory and “pay it forward”.
