Tamekia Rena Walls

Tamekia Renee Walls was born on October 20, 1981 to Kathy and David Walls, Jr. in Houston, Texas. Tamekia attended Shadydale Elementary School, B.C. Elmore Middle School and then went on to complete her education at Forest Brook High School. Tamekia confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized. She is a member of the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Carlton O. Sylvester, Sr.. During her freshman year in high school, at the tender age of 14, Tamekia met and was smitten with Rashard Stewart. They became high school sweethearts and confessed their love to one another. Presenting themselves as Mr. And Mrs. Stewart to all they knew, Tamekia and Rashard remained dedicated to their love. Through their unyielding bond three beautiful children, Demond, Javion, and Rashanna were born. Tamekia was committed to her family, extended family, and friends. Her congenial spirit and infectious smile were loved by all who knew her. In the fall of 2012, Tamekia became ill and was diagnosed with gastric cancer. While her treatments and therapy proved to be difficult, Tamekia's faith in God and His healing power never wavered. She devotedly attended church when her body would allow and openly confessed her love and belief in God's healing. Romans 5:3-4 reads, "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope." Tamekia surely lived her last days in perseverance, hope and glorifying God. Tamekia is preceded in death by Alma Walls (grandmother), Denise Walls (sister), Wilbert Lavan (grandfather), Dewayne Brown (father in law). She leaves to cherish her memory and love: Rashard Stewart (husband), Demond and Javion (sons), Rashanna (daughter), Kathy and David Walls, Jr. (parents), Evelyn Brown (mother in law), Verda Lavan (grandmother), sisters: Melissa (Oquinta) and Teresa, Tracie (sister in law), brothers: David (Ann), DeAndre and Nicolas, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
