Teodora “Lola” Gonzales Salazar, 93, passed peacefully from this life and joined our Heavenly Father and her loving devoted husband Gerardo Salazar Sr. on the morning of January 10, 2023. She was born on June 25, 1929 to Benito and Manuela Gonzalez.
She married Gerardo Salazar Sr. September 3, 1955, and they shared a beautiful marriage of 62 years. They were strong in their Catholic faith and were members of Resurrection Catholic Church in Houston, TX. Lola and Gerardo had 7 children and, even with a large family, she always made time for everyone who needed a helping hand. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, playing Lotería, crossword puzzles and shopping. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow into outstanding people whom she was very proud of. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Lola will be remembered for her great sense of humor, meaningful conversations, contagious joy and laughter, passion for life and food, her warmth and love for her family. She will be dearly missed.
Lola is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Gerardo Salazar Sr., son-in-law Robert Lopez and her 12 siblings.
She leaves behind her seven children to cherish her memories
Gerardo Salazar Jr. and daughter-in-law Vera Salazar, Jose Antonio Salazar and wife Sara, Rosa Maria Lopez and husband Robert+, Susana Maria Smithart and husband Chester, Daniel Salazar and wife Adriana, Maria Elena Santiago and husband Vincent, Martha Elia Cardenas and husband Mario; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
