Teresa Flores, 80, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019. Teresa was born October 10, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Francisco and Maria Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Bernardina, Porfiria, Isidra, Ignacia, Regina, Maria Del Rosario, Jose Natividad, Agustin, and Frank. Teresa is survived by her husband of 34 years, Rosendo Flores; brother, Guadalupe Gonzalez (Catherine), Brothers-in-law Robert Flores (Olga), Juan Rodriguez, Humberto Rodriguez, Sister-in-Law Gloria Gonzalez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Teresa attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and St. Agnes Academy. She was employed by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for 42 years. Throughout her lifetime and upon retirement she enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and playing games on her Kindle, cross stitching and gardening.
Over the years, she had many pets including a Yellow Top parrot “Loro” that lived to the age of 50, various Canaries, Parakeets and Peach Faced Love Birds. Her pet dogs included Capulina, Viruta, China, Malinche, Gitana, Salpicada, Pinta, Marfil, Pixie, and Kewpie just to name a few. Her two cats were Ryan and Speedy. Last but not least, her little companion and lap dog, Zippy. Teresa enjoyed sitting on the back porch swing with “Chendo” to watch Zippy run around the back yard and also taking Zippy for walks in Hermann Park and day trips just for fun.
Teresa will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rosendo and his family would like to thank everyone for their love and support. Special thanks to two of their dearest friends Roy Marquez and Gene Glover.
