

She was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on September 9, 1930, to Epifanio Garza and Ana Maria Elizondo. She was one of 12 children.
Teresa moved to Houston after marrying Ignacio Nunez in 1958.
Teresa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, mother-in-law, and friend. An excellent cook and baker. She worked from home as a professional seamstress for the House of Robes for many years.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church for over 60 years and was a member of the Altar Society, the Guadalupanas, Senior group, and helped in the cafeteria after mass services. Teresa had a passion for baking, knitting and quilting.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ignacio Nunez, Sons Ignacio Nunez, Jr. (Catalina), Hector Nunez, Ricardo Nunez, and daughter Patricia Cortez (Omar), 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, her sister, Gloria Romero, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Epifanio Garza and Ana Maria Elizondo and 10 siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m., at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home,13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 5:30p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1920 Marion St., Houston, Texas, 77009, on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00a.m., followed by Funeral Services at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
