Theodore (Ted) was born May 27, 1951, to parents Ray and Dorothy (McCutcheon) Thompson in Garrison ND. He attended St. Nicholas Elementary School and graduated from Garrison High School in 1969. Ted took further schooling at Wahpeton School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He married Linda Schafer in Minneapolis, MN on October 8, 1970.
