

Tom had one brother and two sisters. He served in the Army 1953 through 1955. He married his first wife, Marie, in 1957. While working for National Supply they moved to Houston in 1963. He worked his way through the company and moved to an affiliated company, Armco Steel, where he eventually became the supervisor of payroll. The company closed in 1985. Tom and Marie have three sons and one daughter. He loved being a part of his sons’ baseball teams as assistant coach and is an avid Astros fan. Marie passed away in 1995.
Tom met and married his current wife, Charlene, in 1999. She brought four children of her own to the marriage. They moved to Country Place in Pearland. Tom was involved in a men’s discussion group, Ragtime band and he also acted in several plays.
Tom enjoyed sports and loved to travel. Some of the places he had been to China, Alaska, the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Africa, Hawaii and several of states in the United States.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marie Legler; his sister, Lois; his brother, Jim; his first wife, Marie; and his first son, Jeff. He is survived by his wife, Charlene; sister, Marianne Wisniewski; son, Mike and wife, Karen Lucht-Legler; daughter, Lynn and husband, Michael Frost; daughter-in-law, Debbie; son, Bill and wife, Jennifer Legler; step-daughter, Robin Campbell; step-son, Bob and wife, Kerstin Talamini; step-daughter, Tina and husband, Tom Tilghman; step-son, Tony and wife, Nancy Talamini; and several grandchildren, Nick, Sarah, Hope, Scott, Adam, Samantha, Cameron, Tate, Tori, Tanner, Morgan, Trace and Teya. Also by his “adopted” son, Jim Schwieger and his sons Josh and Jarrod.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. at Dominican Villa with Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
