

Thomas “T.J.” Whalen, age 69, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad which took him from Denver, Colorado to Cheyenne, Wyoming to Omaha, Nebraska to Chicago, Ilinois, before retiring in The Woodlands, Texas. He enjoyed doing volunteer work at The Terrace Senior Assisted Living Facility, spending time with his grandchildren, and random acts of kindness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bonnie Whalen. Survived by: daughter, Jennifer Still and husband Rande of Bedford, Texas; son, Ben Whalen of Denver, Colorado; and son, Matt Whalen and wife Melissa of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Grandchildren: Sydney Still; Mallory Still; Myles Still; Liam Whalen; and Grady Whalen. Brothers: Bill Whalen and wife Barbara of Spokane, Washington; Joe Whalen and wife Adele of Georgetown, Texas; and Patrick Whalen and wife Patricia of Salt Lake City, Utah. Sister, Mary deRozario and husband Carl of The Woodlands, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas. The Memorial Service Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Dr., The Woodlands, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Terrace Assisted Living and Memory Care at The Woodlands, 1730 Woodstead Court, The Woodlands, Texas 77380.
