He is preceded in death by his parents Aurther T. Scarborough and Ruby F. Scarborough and son Daryl W. Schauer.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lilly M. Scarborough, brother William Johns from Madisonville, Texas. Sister, Carolyn F. Taylor from Madisonville, Texas; Sons Truman R. Scarborough Jr and wife Lisa of Palestine, Texas, Perry Scarborough and wife Jackie of Santa Fe, Texas, David Scarborough and Robby of Katy, Texas, James Powell and wife Amy of Magnolia, Texas and daughter Kimberly S. Ivey of Albemarle, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren Richard, David, Craig, Christopher, Cory, Nikki, Ashton, Holly, Chloe, Connie, Alex, Jeremy and Nick and twelve Great Grandchildren Oliver, Iris, Rueben, Cameron, Jo, Emersyn, Gracie, Abigail, Ian, Rachel, Lucas and Carter.
