

Valera Gladys Carter, born January 10, 1913 to Frank and Ola Bailey in Pasadena, Texas, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2010 in Magnolia, Texas. Valera was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, and her beloved husband, Raymond W. Carter, who was a charter member and deacon of Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter is survived by sons, Gerald Carter and wife, Faye, Frank Carter and wife, Betty, and William Carter; daughters, Nancy Gonzalez and husband, Paul, and Gladys Loftin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Young and Anna Marie Hutchins, and many other family and friends.
Mrs. Carter was a long-time resident of the Aldine area, and for the last years of her life lived in the Tomball-Magnolia area. Valera faithfully served for over fifty years in Memorial Baptist Church, where she was especially devoted to working with the children.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at Memorial Baptist Church, 22333 Kuykendahl, Spring, Texas 77379. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to Memorial Baptist Church.
