 I am so inspired by your beautiful, abundant life as a high schooler.  I think you were absolutely amazing in that you were so active in sports at school yet maintained good grades and had friends to share with as well as your large family.  I can feel their pride in you as you entered the army to follow your dreams and ideals and also continue to grow personally and making America and your family safe from the enemy.  You had high values and were so generous to sacrifice your your brilliant young life in the service of others.
I am not surprised that you are the person through which change for the better for soldiers in the army and all women and men who are sexually accosted and abused is coming.  You come from a family who holds God first in their lives and who love each other so fiercely that they raised a cry loud as thunder at your tragic loss. it is being heard in countless places all over.  You come from a family of warriors of love of each other. You and your family have shined your light of devotion and deep love very high for the whole world to see and be nourished by it.  You were very brave just like your family, and I want to give you my profound gratitude for showing America and anyone who wants to see that this is the way to live our lives, believing in God and His Mother, following in God's ways and loving fiercely, standing up for each other. We need your example to come forward without fear of any enemies.  
I pray for you and your family, Vanessa, as also I pray that a law be passed for the protection of the young recruits. I wait for it. This is not finished.  All of those killed and vanished need justice and you and your family lead the way.  I am deeply grateful to you warrior prayers and warrior hearts. Without God we can do nothing and with God, all things are possible.

I saw this sunflower during my lunch break. 
I didn’t know you, but you have touched my life as you have touched many.  I am saddened of how your life was taken and I’m sure it is hard for your family to know this.  I however see the unity, bond and strength of your family.  I think God had a plan, because I am just amazed of how much your family has done in your name.  Humbly, lovingly and peaceful they have rallied in your name.  Your voice may have been silenced, but you awoke the voices of many.  I am very honored to have paid my respects to you as I had only hope to do.  May you Rest In Peace Vanessa - your life may have ended but you will live in the hearts of many. I remember you, when you arrived at AIT in Fort Lee the last three weeks I was there. I remember your smile and your gentleness. I remember your kindness to me when I was struggling and you reminded me of a part of myself I thought I couldn't get back. It was because of that talk and your words that I’ve worked so hard to become the best version of myself since then. You restored so much hope in my heart and I was so excited for you when I found out you were here on Fort Hood. I knew you were happy bc it meant you were close to your family..... but this is not the ending you deserved. I wish I could rewrite it for you. I wish I’d never lost contact. You will always be a beautiful soul and I will never forget you. With everything in my heart, I love you... even as everyones heart you touched continues to struggle to say goodbye I am waiting for the day we see each other again. There’s so much I will tell you and I hope then you and my grandmother will tell me all you’ve learned; from heaven. 

I didnt know you, but I didnt have to. You were a part of me, from your Hispanic roots. I want you to be able to rest in peace. I want you to know how many people loved you, even as a stranger to us. I do not know you but we share a few things in common.   I was stationed at Fort Hood between 2006-2011, I was a young Hispanic female , and  I experience the same problems as you. This hit me hard, because of the similar experiences.  I was very angry because I know the protocols of what happens to missing soldiers, I KNOW YOUR CHAIN OF COMMAND FAILED YOU! THE ARMY FAILED YOU!
