There have been many impressive men that have walked this earth. But, none more great, more wonderful than VERLEY BENJAMIN HENDRICKS.
Verley’s guiding principles centered around his uncompromising faith, love for family, deep lifetime of friendships, and his passion for belly rolling, fall on the floor laughter. Outstanding husband, father, and friend… He was selfless in serving all who he loved. AND oh, we so loved him back.
Verley Benjamin Hendricks was born on August 25, 1935 in the sprawling metropolis of Nonsuch, Jamaica. There was no one on earth more proud of his home town than Verley. He often joked that Nonsuch had 132 residents including the pigs and the cows. He often reminisced about the close relationship he had with his Mother, Olive who passed to him a love for all things beautiful. They would sing from sun-up to sundown, harvest the most beautiful flowers, and discuss the importance of Christ-centered living. He had many fond memories of his siblings: Ronald, Silbert, Blackie, Esmerelda, Mariam, Elsey, Minette, Stanley, and Harry.
During his studies to become a psychiatric nurse at Bellevue Hospital in Kingston, he met the woman who would change his life forever - Carmin Eunice Samuels (affectionately called Carms). Verley and Carmin would have a once in a century love affair that would last over 56 years. As a hopeless romantic, Verley perfected the art of turning his wife into a queen. He literally spoiled her rotten with trips around world, hand picked flowers, and serenades that would make you blush.
They were truly a perfect couple and fine example of what a Christian marriage should look like. To his children, Verley was a true hero and was so much more than a father. He was a loving and devoted counselor, friend, and prankster who sacrificed everything for his family. He was the Man!
Verley leaves:
5 children: Carol, Desmond, Everton, Sharon, Errol
11 In-laws: Rhema, Gladstone. Copeland, Holland, Basil, Madge

5 Great Grand Children: Joshua, Tyra, Cole, Sophia, Alora, Grayson, Langdon and numerous nieces, & nephews.
He was a faithful servant in his church for decades; serving as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. He oversaw a chaplain ministry for many local hospitals and was co-leader for the famous West Palm Beach Home Bible Study group.Verley never met a stranger and became a father figure for many youth and adults alike. But, his true passion was for the hundreds of adopted children he mentored and loved all over the country. He was “Uncle Verley” to all who loved him.
For fun, Verley loved singing, entertaining, gardening, cricket, table tennis, playing phase ten and giving 6 love in dominos. He would do anything to bring a smile to those he loved.
The world will never be the same without Verley B. Hendricks. But his legacy will live on.
Thank You Verley B.
