

Virgil Raines III, age 59, passed away on June 23, 2026. Born December 21, 1966, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Virgil was the son of Virgil Raines Jr. and the late Vernell Raines. He attended area schools and graduated from Osceola High School in Seminole, Florida. After graduation, Virgil entered the Air Force and served for several years. He later returned to St. Petersburg for a time, working in several industries, before relocating to Houston, Texas, where he was currently employed as a Manager at U-Haul Moving and Storage. A devoted father, grandfather, and loving husband, Virgil was also known as a die-hard Gators Fan.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on July 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on July 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Committal Service will take place at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on July 2, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Virgil leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Laura Raines; children, Virgil Raines IV (Tiahnna), Micah Raines (Kayla Atkinson), Robert Cooper Raines, Miguel Leal (Stephanie), Cynthia Villa (Luis), Andrea Martinez (Luis), and Idalia Ovalle; grandchildren, Ty’Raien, Tyce and Valor Raines, Sophia Raines, Raelynn Raines, Jocelyn Santini, Jeremiah Leal, Adrian De La Cruz, Marina Villa, De’Angelo Santini, and Baby Leal (due in August); father, Virgil Raines Jr.; siblings, Patricia Raines-Fish and Vanessa Raines-Sweat (Anthony); in-laws, Fernando and Alma Ovalle; and a special friend, Maria Raines. He is also remembered with love by a host of uncles, aunts, in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends.
