Virginia Pena Gonzales

Virginia Gonzales (82) passed away December 31, 2023. Virginia was born October 22, 1941 to Librado and Cecilia Peña in Wharton, Texas. She attended Wharton Schools, and received her diploma from Wharton High School. In 1963 she met and married Gonzalo Gonzales Jr. Together they had two daughters Liza Rodriguez and Leslie Gonzales, and lived in Houston, Texas.

Virginia was a big sports fan. The Dallas Cowboys were her favorite, she also liked the Rockets and the Astros. Jose Altuve was her favorite player.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Gonzalo and daughter Leslie Gonzales. Her parents Librado and Cecilia Pena, and brothers and sisters Amelia P Bargas, Elvira P Ybarbo, Antonia P Huerta, Juanito Peña, Felipe Peña, Teodoro Peña, Luz P Lopez, Joe Lee Peña, and Maria Angelita Peña.

Virginia is survived (leaves behind) by her daughter and husband, Liza G. Rodriguez and Rudolph V. Rodriguez.

Grandchildren, Jordan Gianni Battaglia, Richard Lee Ayala, Stephanie Moreno husband Alex Moreno, Kevin Joel Ayala, Brandy Sabrina Jo Rodriguez Medina husband Cristyan Medina, Nicholas Ayala, Alexia Cardoso; and Skylare Virginia Rose Ayala.

Great-Grandchildren, Draven Lee Ayala, Daniel Ayala, Isaiah Moreno, Nathan Moreno, Avery Moreno, and Drean Sianni Moreno. Great Great-Grandchild, Elianna Camila Ayala.

Virginia leaves behind her brother Jesse Pena and sister Isabel Pena. Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, brother and sister-in-laws.

A public visitation for Virginia will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
