Born on March 9, 1938, Walter dedicated his life to hard work, family, and helping others. A proud member of Local 54 Sheet Metal Union, he spent many years working for Gowan Mechanical before finishing his distinguished 50-year career at Shell Research. Walter was known for his sharp mind and quick thinking—skills that made him a trusted problem solver in every area of his life.
“If it’s broken, I can fix it,” he would often say—and he meant it. From race motors to home projects, Walter could build anything from nothing, a gift he passed on while working side-by-side with his son, Roger, building race engines and sharing countless memories under the hood.
Walter treasured family vacations, where he found joy in simply being with those he loved most like by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Cudd; daughter, Dawn Renee Cudd; and son, Roger Cudd. His kind heart, steady hands, and generous spirit left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
Walter will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched.
