Willard Floyd Evans Jr.

Born: May 14, 1930 in Galveston, Tx to parents Willard Floyd Evans, Sr. and Clemmie Lorranie Rogers. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII as a 14year old teenager, Seaman 1st Class from 1944-1946. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he continued his education and graduated from Magnolia High School, where he met his wife Margaret Lee Brantley. They have 4 children: Karen Wood, Terri Lynn Huss, Kelley McLennan, and Mitch Evans and 2 son-in-laws: Fritz Huss, FC Wood and 1 daughter-in-law, Re'Nan Evans. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Clint Huss, Travis McLennan, Will Evans, Shelby Wood, Colton Evans, Lane Evans, Cameron Evans, Taylor McLennan and Ty Evans. He has 2 sisters, Charlotte Evans and preceded in death by Shirley Duvall and a step mother, Vivian Marie Evans. Willard worked for Armour Fertilizer and retired from Shell Oil Company (Deer Park Complex) with 37 years of service from 1953-1990. His fraternal memberships include the Masonic Lodge (Reagan), Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, and the American Legion. He attended Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston. He is a member of Richey Street Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas. Services will be held at the Forest Park, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77571. Visitation for Willard Evans will be on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5-9pm. Funeral services will be held the following day, Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10am in the Forest Park Lawndale Main Chapel. Internment will follow in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
