William Royce Bonham, also known as Bill left this earth to be with LaVerne Bonham on the morning of March 3rd , 2017, at the age of 86. After being unresponsive for 8 days, he passed peacefully in a loving caring environment.
Bill grew up on a cotton and dairy farm in a small town in west Texas named Seagraves. Growing up on a family farm, he learned a strong work ethic at a very young age that he would carry with him the rest of his life.
Seagraves is where Bill met LaVerne who would be his wife of 64 years and life long partner. After returning home from the US Army Bill and Laverne moved to Houston in the early 1950's to start a family and is where their Sons William Carl was born in 1957 and Dale Royce was born in 1960.
Bill took a job with Baker Oil Tools, which would later become Baker Hughes, where he became Global Export Manager and retired after 48 years of service.
Bill was an avid golfer and bowler. Raising his family, and participating in church and these activities is where he got his joy. He was also an accomplished wood worker as well but had to leave his wood shop behind when they sold their house and moved to the Klein area.
Bill was preceded in death by his Father Carl Judson Bonham, Mother, Della Beatrice Bonham and 7 brothers and sisters, Thelma, Carl Jr, Clifford, Vernon, Lewis, Harold, and Lee. His brother Jack is 89 and lives in Washington, Iowa. His memories will continue to be shared by Carl Bonham and his wife Mary, Dale Bonham and his wife Camille, and his 3 grandchildren Ryan, Ross and Lauren.
Bill was a wonderful man, a faithful Husband and Father, provider and mentor for his family and to those fortunate enough to have known him.
Bill has dearly missed Laverne, whom he adored, since her passing in June of 2016.
They can now be together again where they belong, at the right hand of God.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas.
