

He welcomed every opportunity to play golf but remained disenchanted with never breaking a score of 90, accepting this with a smile and showing his lightheartedness.
After attending Harlingen High School in 1957, he graduated from University of Texas in 1962 and served in the U.S. Navy. Soon after, moved to Houston, where he began a successful, 46-year career in the Financial Industry, retiring as Senior Vice President at Prosperity Bank in 2010.
In 1969, Bill accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and, in 1981, he joined Houston First Baptist Church, where he was an active member, led Sunday school classes, and participated in three world mission trips helping those in need.
Bill married the love of his life, Harriet, in 1972, and they were married for 48 years.
Preceded in death by his wife Harriet; his parents William G. and Mary Sellers, and brother George Sellers. Survived by his brother Gerald Sellers Sr. and wife Rose Mary of Richmond; nephews Gerald Sellers Jr. and wife Margaret and Jefferey Gray Sellers and wife Sandee of Houston; great niece Lauren (Sellers) Sandland and husband Daniel of Montgomery; brother-in-law Douglas Walraven and wife Barbara of Montgomery; Mark A. Sellers of Houston; Elizabeth Solomon of Houston.
Endless tales of generosity by Bill are known and celebrated and a Godly and gracious spirit was felt in his presence.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 1pm. at First Baptist Church of Houston 7401 Katy Frwy, Houston 77024. Graveside services will follow at 3pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston 77023.
