My name is Shirley Easter and I have recently learned about the Loss of Yevernette of who we called Y in the Southwestern Bell and AT&T environment. I am deeply saddened to learn about your loss. I will continue to keep your family in prayer. I have known Yevernette since 1970.

Ms. Taylor was a feisty lady. Determine tha no one would get the best of her.  I could tell several things about her by her demeanor and conversations we would have. She was a woman of substance and dignity and she had no problem telling you what was on her mind.  There would be times she would talk to me as if she knew me for a while.  I enjoyed listening to her stories as she was always  recalling different events at what seems to be work related. Then she would look at me and say “don’t you remember that” Those were moments she was lucid.  

You all had a good Mom, she was a fighter.  Inspite if her challenges, she remained a woman of dignity and character.

You know there’s an old saying
“ Some people come into your life for a moment, some for a little while, others for a lifetime.  The length of time in your life is not the case, it’s the impact they left when they go “. Your Mom was one of those, very impactful.  She will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to the siblings, children,  grandchildren and all of my cousins at this time.  I loved and will miss Yevernette. I believe with all my heart that she is at peace and is in a much better place now.

The definition has great value as to who you were and what you stood for. I remember as a little girl watching you be the dutiful wife, mother and neighbor. You were always so pretty, I remember saying "When I get older I'm coloring my hair like that" and I did. You will certainly be missed but never forgotten by the Williams family and the Yorkdale community.

You were always extremely pleasant with me every time I visited your house to hang out with Jamarcus. He is like a brother to me thus my heart is heavy upon learning of your transition. However, your legacy of love and laughter will eternally be remembered in the hearts and minds of your loved ones. I am a better person having knowing you for so many years. You will be missed but never forgotten. ❤️

Momma Taylor as I called  you, your very presence and smile is truly truly missed. It was a joy to meet and you and to be a part of your life. For My Sister
Hey Yevi,
I wanted to share some of the good times we had together. First, I was always following you when I was a little girl and you allowed me. I often think about you “hot combing” my hair and burning me especially when you got to the “kitchen”.  You would always say you did not and then start laughing or saying something funny so I would not cry. Every-time you drove somewhere in Gene’s Ford you always asked me to ride. You drove the heck out of that big black stick shift.  Remember how you used to tell me those crazy stories, or make me really believe there was a girl in the Pink dress?  I believed you and was afraid to sleep by myself. 

You were responsible for me meeting my best friend Byronné. Her mother was your Homemaking teacher, and she came to make a home visit. You made that ugly sack dress, but when you wore it, you looked stunning. While her mom was inside checking out your project, I was outdoors talking to her daughter that she left in the car. The next day she came to my school and ended up in my class. After that, it was history.

Oh yeah. Do not forget how you let me drive your Maverick to Junior Achievement and I did not even have a license. I wanted to be like you, because you were so beautiful and people always were complimenting you on those gorgeous “Cat eyes.”

Even when you got married, I was still close to you. I would come spend the night with you and the girls.
Finally, I want to tell you that I  never stopped loving you, and I hope your transition to the other side was peaceful.

I know you are in a better place, and hope you are finally happy and no longer suffering.
I will see you on the other side someday, but until then..
