Born in St. Calixte, Quebec, Canada, on Sunday, February 16, 1936, Zita has been a resident of Houston for over 50 years and considered herself a Texan after becoming an American citizen. Throughout out her life in Houston, Zita had a passion for her family, friends, travel and her dog Yancy. Zita supported many charitable causes which included knitting blankets for Wounded Warriors.
Zita is survived by her son, Thad Claytor; daughter, Denyse Claytor and their respective spouses, Allison Claytor and Howard Bruton; her grandchildren, Dewayn Bruton and wife Candice, Justin Bruton, Kennedy Claytor, Thomas Claytor and great granddaughter, Addison Bruton.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17th. Reverend M. Eugene Vickrey will lead the service where memories will be shared with all attending.
