Jeannie Balencie Weber, a woman of deep love, humor, and grace, passed away on May 27, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family. A proud Daughter of the American Revolution, Jeannie lived a life rich in tradition, generosity, and the quiet joy of caring deeply for those around her.
Jeannie was the beloved wife of Dr. Daniel J. Weber, MD, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to Stephen Simpson (Tanya), Matt Simpson-Weber (Craig), and Rick Simpson (Chelsea), and a loving stepmother to Wendy Byron (Tom) and Candice Leuschner (Kirt).
She was a loving grandmother to Chris Simpson (Shelbie), Mercedes Simpson, RJ Simpson, and Riley Simpson, and a loving step-grandmother to Kyle (child of Wendy and Tom), and to Luke, Drake, and Annabelle (children of Candice and Kirt).
She was also a proud great-grandmother to Christian, Sawyer, and Sutton (children of Chris and Shelbie), and to Hunter (child of Mercedes). Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was abundant and evident in every story told, every gift sent, and every laugh shared.
Jeannie is also survived by her siblings Mary, Guy, Matthew, Ramona, and Stephanie, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also preceded in death by her brother Joe, who is remembered posthumously.
Known for her sharp wit and boundless heart, Jeannie found joy in life’s simple treasures—fine china, antiques, quilting, and spontaneous acts of kindness. She had a habit of surprising loved ones with thoughtful packages: toys for the kids, cookies, popcorn—little reminders that they were always on her mind.
She welcomed people into her family with open arms, never making anyone feel like an outsider. Her warmth and generosity created a home where love had no boundaries.
Jeannie leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and unwavering love. She had a gift for storytelling and could light up a room with her humor and charm. Whether sharing funny memories, offering wise advice, or simply making others feel seen, Jeannie had a way of making everyone around her feel like they truly belonged.
Her family is grateful for the time they had with her, the countless moments of joy, and the unconditional love she so freely gave. Though their hearts are heavy, they find comfort in the memories and the love that continues to surround them.
Jeannie Balencie Weber lived a life of beauty and blessing. She will be fiercely missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Jeannie’s final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., where her husband, Daniel, will one day join her. The date of the service will be shared once it becomes available.
