She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Moore; daughter, Audrey Moore Floyd; and six siblings, James Burwell, Cora Reed Sledge, Mary Craighead, Lillie Sullivan, Robert Burwell, and Alda Ruth Burwell.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Toni Fant and Jennifer (Terry) White; stepdaughters, Viva Williams and Natalie Joy Regulus; grandchildren, Chad Pearson, Cydney White, Riley White and her fiancé, Sam Fields, Jamel Fant, and Jabbar (DaShania) Fant; one sister, Betty Hyter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Annie graduated from Council High School in Huntsville, Alabama. She later married George, and together they moved to Michigan and then to Dayton, Ohio. While living in Dayton, Annie worked as a cashier at Liberal Supermarkets for 20 years. After relocating back to Huntsville, she worked as a bank teller at Regions Bank for another 20 years before retiring in 2000.
Annie found joy in many of life’s simple pleasures: phone calls with her sisters and sisters-in-law, trips to the hair salon, working puzzles, painting, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. She treasured her daily devotion and, when she could no longer attend church in person, continued faithfully watching First SDA Church worship services and prayer meetings. Above all, Annie treasured spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Bruno.
Annie gave her life to Christ at a young age, and her faith remained an important part of her life. While living in Dayton, she was a faithful member of Phillips Temple CME Church. After returning to Huntsville, she became a faithful member of First SDA Church.
Annie was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud and present grandmother, and a devoted caregiver. She loved her entire family deeply and especially treasured the closeness she shared with her sisters.
Affectionately known as “Tavie,” Annie was loving, funny, forgiving, and full of grace. She cared for those she loved in countless ways, often through the simple acts that made a family feel safe, nurtured, and loved. Her life was one of faith, family, devotion, and quiet strength.
To her daughters, she was a cherished jewel. To her family, she was a source of love and care whose presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
