Barbara Bradford Phillips, 96, died on Friday, January 2nd, 2026. She was a native Huntsvillian, graduate of West Huntsville High School, retired from Huntsville City Schools, and was a lifelong member of Memorial Southern Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas R. Phillps Jr., son Lieutenant Thomas R. Phillips III, daughter-in-law Edith Phillips, two sisters Gladys B. Ivy and Louise B. Reed, and grandson Specialist Andrew F. Chris, who was killed serving his country in Iraq.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Phillips Chris and Kimberly Phillips, both of Huntsville. Seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Memorial Gardens with visitation one-hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in her honor to a charity of your choice.
