Betty Mae Parvin Soland

Betty Mae Parvin Soland, 92, of Monrovia, AL passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Betty Soland was born on June 24th, 1933, to John and Ella Parvin. She was a devoted wife to Alton Dale Soland and a loving mother to their daughters Debbie Spry and Kaye Soland. She was also a proud grandmother to three grandchildren, Rachel Marie Smith, Leslie Smith Harbarger and Samuel Soland Spry.

Our beloved grandmother passed away after a long and remarkable life defined by her strength, determination, and unapologetic spirit. She was bossy, stubborn, and fiercely independent — traits that kept her sharp and everyone else on their toes. Though she may have ruled the roost with an iron will, she did so with a heart full of love and a deep devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Dale Soland and her daughter Deborah “Debbie” Spry. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Kaye Soland; her granddaughters, Rachel Smith and Leslie Harbarger; her grandson Samuel Spry; her great grandchildren, Dalton Asendorf, Poppy Harbarger, Sawyer and Soland Spry .

Visitation for Betty will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL. Following the visitation will be a celebration of life at 12:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester, Huntsville, AL. She will be laid to rest at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
