After college, Burton began his career at Intergraph - where he worked on application software in the Utilities Group. In 1996, he went to work for a small startup company called Mesa Solutions, which was acquired several times over the years by Telcordia Technologies, SAIC, and eventually Ericsson in 2012, where he was still employed. The work was challenging and introduced him to many people in numerous countries.
Outside of work, Burton’s life revolved around his three daughters. He was a dedicated father who loved his girls.
Burton was an intelligent, fun-loving individual who ended every conversation with a “Roll Tide.” To know him was to love him. He was a unique and special person that was called home too soon and will be dearly missed by the many who called him family and friend.
He is survived by his daughters Mary Ailish Lynch, Kathleen Ivy Lynch, and Emma Anne Lynch; his father Patrick Edward Lynch; and his siblings Maureen Lynch Gordon, Ramona Lynch Johnson, Stanley Patrick Lynch, and Paula Lynch Williams. He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Cross Lynch.
Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday July 16, 2021. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Family Regional Catholic School, where his daughters attended through 8th grade.
