Catherine "Cathy" Ann McCurrie

Catherine Ann McCurrie of Huntsville passed away on May 24, 2022, surrounded by her beloved family. Cathy was born in Pageland, SC on March 24, 1947, the second of three daughters of Coleman and Ethel Sims. The family moved to Rogersville, AL when Cathy was a young child. She graduated from Lauderdale County High School in 1966 and worked for several years as a contract specialist for NASA. Later, after relocating to San Diego, CA, she worked for Wells Fargo and then at First Citizens Bank until her retirement. After spending 20 years in San Diego, she returned home to Huntsville to be near her family, and she was blessed and happy to be able to spend the rest of her life near those she loved so much, and who loved her.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Daniel Cole McKelvey, niece Jenny Sueann Owens and nephew Tommy Owens. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son and daughter in law, Norman and Kelly McKelvey of Huntsville, grandchildren Amber McKelvey of Pulaski, TN, Elizabeth McKelvey and Savannah McKelvey of Huntsville, Jesse (Jane) Humphry of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Cameron (Hannah Marie) Humphry of Huntsville, sisters Rebecca Birdsell and Judy (Don) Harbin of Huntsville and many nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Huntsville for their care and support of our beloved Mom during her final days.
