

Clarence "Pistol" Holliman Stephens, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 5th, 2024. He was born February 24, 1937 to Garland and Leona Stephens in Gurley, AL., where he and his 11 brothers and sisters grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Madison County High School in 1955. Clarence served in the Army from 1956 until 1959 in the 94th engineer battalion. A lifelong salesman of a variety of goods, Clarence had an exemplary career as a realtor working with his wife, Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy, his parents, his brother Paul, and his sisters Mary, Ruth, Dorothy and Shirley. He is survived by his son Eddie, daughter-in-law and grandson as well as his brothers Garland Jr.(Nancy), Jimmie(Judy) and James (Dee). Sisters Helen, Velma and Patsy.
Clarence was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life and took great pride in the multiple trophies displayed in his home. A member of the Masonic Lodge of Gurley, he was a devoted Christian and took great pride in his knowledge of the Bible and his faith. He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Laceys Spring, AL. He was also a member of the Huntsville Jaycees.
The family would like to thank Regency Retirement Village for their help, kindness and inclusion of Clarence in a wonderful and caring community.
Visitation for Clarence will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by the celebration of life service at 1:00 PM. Clarence will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memory Gardens, Huntsville, AL.
