The family moved to Huntsville in 1962, he was a 1975 graduate of S.R. Butler High School.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Virginia Heston. He is survived by his brothers Lonnie (Diana) of Wichita, KS, Gary of Huntsville, AL and Alvin (Pam) of Elkmont, AL, and his sister Norma Noblit (Steve) of New Market, AL. Dean was active in Boy Scouts and was Troop 1 leader for many years. He worked as a welder, including working at Teledyne Brown on the Space Shuttle Program. He was an avid duck hunter and also enjoyed fishing with his father.
A committal service will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens & Funeral, located at 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811, on February 17, 2026. The service will take place from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
