Doris Elaine Williams Wobrock Wells, age 97, of Madison, Alabama passed away on Friday January 17, 2020. Doris was born November 12, 1922 in Garland, Alabama to Walter and Lyndall Williams. She would often say she was born in L.A. (lower Alabama).
Doris grew up in Cullman, AL and graduated High School. She also lived in Washington, DC, Salamanca, NY, Gainesville, FL, Fort Collins, CO before heading back and settling in the Huntsville/Madison area.
Doris worked a variety of jobs throughout her life that included the FBI, The Rocky Mountain National Forest, Redstone Arsenal and retired after 20 years of service with NASA. She was particularly proud to have served with Directors, J. Edgar Hoover and Dr. Wernher Von Braun.
Doris loved nature, poetry, games, anything witty, her church families, her Double Nickels Senior Group (where her and Fred's alter egos Annie Lou and Beauregard would often make appearances), just about anyone she came in contact with, but most of all her Lord Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Paul G. Wobrock (1982) and Frederic E. Wells (2003); daughter, Holly Dawn Wobrock (1976).
She is survived by her grandson, Dustin Burruss and his wife Julie Martin Burruss; great granddaughter, Kendall Burruss and great grandson, Evan Burruss. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation for Doris will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00pm in Valhalla's Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Huntsville Memory Gardens, 6810 Highway 72W, Huntsville, AL 35806.
