Dorothy Helen Fischer

Dorothy was a wife, mother, homemaker and retired Pediatric Nurse at Huntsville Hospital. She loved to read and cook. She had an extensive collection of cookbooks, mystery novels and classics. Being an Army wife, she raised her kids all over the world during her husband’s military career.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Fischer; sister-in-law, Margaret (Stan) Lucas; brother-in-law, Jack (Priscilla) Fischer.

Surviving family members include her children; Paul (Kathy) Fischer, Mike (Norene) Fischer, Chris (Theresa) Fischer, Bill (Karen Schindelhauer) Fischer, David (Shelley) Fischer, Sandy (Gene) Antestenis; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Celebration Chapel, with a graveside service to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Chapel of Love.
