Dorothy Louise Sledge

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Sledge; daughters Natasha Sledge, Michelle (Alton) Bearden, and Paula (Joe) Kincade; sons Howard (DeShannon) Smithey, Scotty (Misty) Smithey, Deon Sledge, and John Sledge. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kayla Smithey, Logan Smithey, Kaitlyn Smithey, Eric Smithey, Jeremy (Danielle) Rich, Renee Lyle, Phillip Lyle, Joseph Lyle, Kaleb Clickner, Shonna (Thomas) Martin, Brittany Sledge, Torre Sledge, Crystal Sledge, Josh Sledge, and Autumn (Blake) Potter.

Dorothy is survived as well by her sister Peggy (George) Sledge; brothers Connie Perry, Ronnie Perry, and Terry Perry; and a large and loving family of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Samuel Perry; mother Gertie Brand; sisters Brenda Brand and Patricia Johnson; and brothers William Perry, Leo Perry, and Jerry Perry.

Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many hearts she touched throughout her life.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama, in the Celebration Chapel.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama.
