Paul and I were friends from high school back in Titusville, Florida.  We had reconnected several months ago when he reached out about our upcoming 50th Class Reunion. We enjoyed reminiscing about times gone by and catching up on each others' lives. He talked endlessly about his father, his children, his "bonus" children, his grandchildren, his friends "on the mountain," his church, his favorite donkey, and of course his beloved dogs, all with pride and love. How I loved listening to him talk about his life over the last 50 years. And he listened to me just as much. What a gift he had for making you feel important and respected. I'm going to miss our talks, and like so many others, his absence has left a huge hole in my life and my heart. It's hard to fathom that he is gone. Those of you who have been in his life all these years are so blessed.  The last time we talked he said, "Thank you for bringing laughter back into my life." Well, I thank you my dear, dear friend for doing the same. Until we meet again, I will miss you always and forever.

Friday Night Supper Club

Paul was the most caring and kind person. We met while volunteering at Burritt and he always showed an interest in everyone he met. Prayers to his family and friends. His gentle spirit will be sorely missed.

We dearly loved Mr. Paul! He was so nice to us and one of the major reasons we began attending Monte Sano Baptist 4 years ago. He was like a grandpa to our children (to all the children there really) and the children all loved Mr. Paul so much. Our church is truly hurting from this loss. 

He kept our dog Willow for us for several months when I was on bed rest and couldn’t take care of her. He was so extremely giving in every way and he had a heart of gold.

Paul was a tireless and fun-loving staff member and volunteer at Burritt.    I will dearly miss the laugh and the smiling face of Father Christmas!

He was the life of Mark’s birthday party

Paul was the friendliest guy I've ever met. He'd push his way into your life, and for the better.  I will miss him. I don't think I can tell my kids he's gone, they won't understand.

I can’t even begin to express what Mr. Paul meant to our family. When my wife was pregnant with one of our babies, if it wasn’t for Mr. Paul, we may not even have our sweet dog right now because she was an energetic puppy and we needed a place for her to stay for just a little bit while we were getting settled in with a newborn and everything and he happily took care of her for a few months and it really gave us a chance to spend a lot of time with them back-and-forth because they would always watch our dogs when we went out of town to the beach or whatever vacation or even just traveling to see family in Mississippi etc and I thank the Lord for the precious time we did have with them. Mr. Paul was undoubtedly the first person to make us feel extremely welcome at church and if it wasn’t for his family, I don’t even know if we would be there.  We felt a part of the church family from day one because of the hospitality and love of Jesus that shown through.  Any time they took care of our dog and did endless things for us, He would never ask for money or anything, but we would always bless them with some food or Walmart gift cards, but they never had any expectation. Mr. Paul was an angel sent down from Heaven.  He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger and he loved our girls. He was a second grandparent to us and to our girls. They adored him and was actually in their prayers often at night because they made that much of an impact on our life. I look forward to seeing you again one day Mr. Paul in heaven because Lord knows you love Jesus and we do too and we can’t wait to reunite with you.  You are by far one of the most special people to us that ever walked this earth.

Paul was known for his unwavering kindness and compassion. He dedicated his life to caring for others, whether it was working with the animals, his job as a postman or his ability to lend a hand no matter what!!!! His laugh was infectious and he always brightened people’s days with his big heart!! I will miss my buddy!

Our prayers are with the family at the loss of an amazing man. He had such a big heart for people, especially the kids. He will be missed by many. Our love to Carrie, Christy, Jason and Katie, and the entire family.

Paul was such a great guy. He was loved by everyone in the neighborhood.  It was so sweet when my  grandson would put his letter to Santa in Postman Paul’s mailbox. The highlight of our trips to Burritt were always getting to see and hang out with him. We all have happy memories and will miss him.

I was truly blessed over the past two and a half years working with Paul. He was a light of the community and made sure everyone felt welcomed. He had a passion in everything he did whether that be being the postman or working with all the barnyard animals. He will truly be missed by everyone.

...and light! You will be missed and your memory, warmth, and kind spirit will remain imprinted on my heart. So glad I had the opportunity to get to know you!

I had the pleasure of getting to know Paul over my two years at Burritt. He was truly so kind and selfless. His love for those around him was evident in everything he did.  I will miss my friend dearly.

I first met Paul this past spring when I began working at Burritt on the Mountain. We hit it off immediately and he has been my right hand around the Historic Park ever since. I can’t even begin to express my shock and sadness at learning of the news. The hole he has left is deep and wide and he will be dearly and deeply  missed.

My earliest memories in my life are when Paul would come up to the door to deliver the mail to my family. He always commented on my red hair and as a kid it made me feel so special. He has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. He was and is the light on our mountain and I will always remember him as that.

Paul and I worked together at the Post Office for many years his smile, charm , his kind spirit and his laugh, he started  coming to the retirees breakfast and when he walked in to City Cafe his laughter and greeting was one of sincerity l was shocked and sadden of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family. He will be truly missed.

I've known Paul my entire life.  There are few people I've ever encountered that cared more for others, and would do more for others, than Paul.  He was incredible in that way.  And is remembered for how he walked his journey on this earth.  Rest peacefully, with a smile in your heart.

Hello, I share in your heartbreak over the loss of this incredible man. I worked with Paul at Burritt on the Mountain. He brought joy to so many through his portrayal of St. Nick at the holiday events years after year. He gave generously through his care of the Barnyard animals and always had a friendly greeting for visitors and his fellow employees. I, along with many others, will miss his incredible presence and kind old soul spirit. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Paul and I had many adventures together beside working at the Post Office. Prayers to his family and may he rest in peace. Everyone will miss you.
