Douglas Albert Hinshaw, 84, of Huntsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hinshaw is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Rozell Hinshaw; son, Randy Hinshaw; daughter, Jill Robinson; sister, Alma (Hurtis) Mathis; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mattie Hinshaw; and three brothers, Alfred, Paul and James.
Mr. Hinshaw was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for a number of years. He was a devout Christian man and very strong in his faith. Doug like woodworking, the Atlanta Braves, watching the Gaither’s on TV, politics, and of course Alabama Football. He loved family and its values, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was truly loved and will be dearly missed by many!
You may visit with the family on Saturday, June 14, 2014, from 1:00-2:30 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service held in Valhalla’s Chapel of Love Sanctuary conducted by Pastor Terrell Boyd commencing at 3:00 PM.
