Edgar José Carrasquillo, age 61, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021. Edgar was born February 23, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany to Dalila Cabán Carrasquillo and José Antonio Carrasquillo.
Ed is survived by daughter Briana Harris, son Benjamin Carrasquillo, daughter Isabella Carrasquillo, mother Dalila Cabán Carrasquillo, brother Robert Carrasquillo, and sister Arlene Carrasquillo. He was preceded in death by father LTC (Ret) José Antonio Carrasquillo.
Ed was a loving father, a dedicated engineer, and a music enthusiast. He received a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as a mechanical engineer for NASA for over 30 years. He was a naturally gifted musician who sang in church choirs and picked out tunes on piano by ear. Ed was known among friends and family for his ease with conversation and humor, and he rarely left a gathering without making a new friend.
Ed’s family would like to extend the most heartfelt thank you to his entire Care Team on the Pleasantville Unit, at Legacy Health and Rehabilitation of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, with special gratitude to Donna, Ally, Delphine, and Maria. His Care Team, along with Journey Hospice will have our family’s unending gratitude.
A visitation for Edgar will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
