Ed worked at Bruderer in Huntsville, Alabama, for 23 years and later at Segers in Robertsdale as a machinist. Like his father, Ed had a natural talent for mechanics and a love for working on cars. He
especially enjoyed restoring old cars. Other interests included spending time with his family and enjoying his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Bud” Tallent and Nina Durham Tallent, and his stepson, Anthony “Tony” Upchurch.
Ed is survived by his wife, Beverly Tallent; his three daughters, Nicole Garner (husband, Duane), Heather Shaw, and Whitney Blessing; his two sisters, Gail Knox and Linda Wilbanks; seven
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren by marriage.
A graveside military service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens, with David McNeill officiating. There will be no prior visitation.
Ed will be lovingly remembered by his family and those who knew him.
