Emma Ruth King

She is preceded in death by her parents - William and Bertha Bedwell and 10 siblings: Doyle Bedwell, Francis Lovan, Corrine Golden, Malcolm Bedwell, Gene Bedwell, Johnny Bedwell, Jerry Bedwell, Becky Baker, Linda Howell, Sammie Bedwell.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Paul G. King; daughter, Dena Hutchison (Glynn); son, William P. King (Carolyn); grandchildren, Joseph Melson, Kimberly Hutchison, Matthew Twilley (Ashley), Michele Marshall, Daniel King (Amanda); and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who love and will deeply miss her.

Throughout the years, Paul and Ruth opened their home and hearts as foster parents to many children providing love, support, and stability during challenging times. Their dedication to nurturing those in need has left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Ruth was a retired Cafeteria Manager for Huntsville City Schools, a dedicated board member of ALANA and AGAPE, and a faithful member of the Chase Park Church of Christ.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. A Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Rusty Hills, will begin at 3:00pm in Valhalla's Celebration Chapel. Graveside services, officiated by Pat Cowden, will immediately follow services at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811.
