

Ms. Ethel Lee "Sis" Gardner, daughter of the late Mahlon Gardner and Jenny Stevenson Gardner was born September 12, 1926. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Indian Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Bryson, Tennessee under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Gilbert Jones She later joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with rededication and was baptized by Rev. Richard Hamlet, and now presiding Pastor Ernest L. Williams. Ethel "Sis" served faithfully on the Hospitality Ministry and she sang with the Senior Choir. Sis truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She enjoyed farming, gardening, yard work and just being outdoors.
She quietly departed this life Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her residence in Harvest, Alabama. She was preceded in death by both parents Mahlon and Jenny Gadrner. Sisters, Katherine Sebron and Luetta Brown. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse; Hebrews 13:16 " And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased".
Surviving is her son, Wilson Gardner and his wife Betty of Huntsville, Al. Her sisters Bernice and Betty Gardner both of Harvest, Al. Grandchildren: Kelvin Gardner (Vijic) of Huntsville, Al., Zachary( Taniesha Nichole) Gardner and Eric Gardner both of Huntsville, Al. She especially loved her great grandchildren : Jadon and Jacob and their mother Wanda Baker, Alex, Andrew, Ashton and Autumn and their mother Vijic Gardner, Kelton and his mother Latasha Foster and Elijah and his mother Taniesha Nichole Gardner; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Valhalla Memory Gardens Pastor Ernest Williams officiating.
