

Eugenia Stanley Cochran, known by her friends as Deanie, aged 88, died November 21, 2018 at Regency Retirement Village in Huntsville, Alabama. Deanie was born May, 22, 1930, in Omen, Texas; the daughter of James Fulton Stanley, Sr. and Achsah Eugenia Stanley.
Over the course of her childhood, Deanie along with her family lived in several different areas throughout Texas including Rockport, San Antonio, San Angelo, Dallas, and Van in East Texas where she graduated from Van High School. After attending Tyler Junior College and East Texas Baptist College, Deanie traveled to Frankfurt Germany where she worked as an executive secretary for the US government. She travelled extensively throughout Europe during her 2-year tenure as a civilian employee for the Army.
Deanie met Jerry Lynch Cochran from Meridian, MS at the officers club in Frankfort Germany in the late 1950’s. In 1960, Deanie married Jerry in Dallas, TX. The couple moved to Huntsville, AL where Jerry worked as an electrical engineer for NASA until his death in 1980. Together they raised 2 children, David and Janet, in the Huntsville, AL area.
Deanie was a strong woman of faith in Jesus Christ. She and Jerry were actively involved in several different ministries at West Huntsville Baptist church and also Faith Chapel in Huntsville, AL where Deanie remained a member.
Deanie is survived by her son, David Stanley Cochran, and his wife, Wanda; her daughter, Janet Cochran Fields and her husband, Jimmy; Grandson, Joshua Lawrence Cochran; and many other relatives and friends.
The Funeral will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd, Huntsville, AL, November 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent in her name to Samaritan’s Purse.
