Evelyn Guerin Cox

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband; M.J. Cox, father; Edd Guerin, mother; Beulah Gipson Guerin, brother; Edd Guerin Jr., sister; Barbara Guerin Taylor and daughter-in-law; Nancy Rowe Cox.

Evelyn was the proud mother of four children; Melleny Cox Pritchett, Michael Cox, Jerry Wade Cox (Judith Nichols Cox), James Edwin Cox, ten Grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of Wears Chapel Baptist Church, where she loved teaching a Sunday school class. She enjoyed quilting for her grandchildren and planting vegetables and flowers of different varieties. She had one flower that she cherished because her sister Barbara smuggled it out of Hawaii in her bra.

Evelyn had recently moved to Auburn to be near her youngest son, grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

You may visit with the family on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 am in Valhalla's Celebration Chapel. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens immediately following services.
