Franklin Wade Mitchell, age 63, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on January 13, 2022. Wade was born in Lawrenceville, GA on October 23, 1958, and was preceded in death by his parents, E. W. and Edna Mitchell. He was a member of Hillwood Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Angie Mitchell Elkins (Rush III); nieces, April LePak (James), and Adrea Hooper (Bill); nephew, Rush Elkins IV (Gabriela); three great nieces and nephew; Cash Brothers, Aubrey McGinnis and Eliana Elkins.
Wade was a graduate of Grissom High School, and attended vocational school for drafting. He became an electrical draftsman and was long employed by government contractors. He worked in the Kwajalein Atoll for many years where he became an avid scuba diver. He enjoyed diving around old shipwrecks, learning their history, where they were from. Wade was also a talented jazz musician, playing guitar and bass in bands off and on in his life. He loved his beloved dog, Roi, named after Roi Namur, where he lived and worked in Kwajalein.
A Private Family Service on will be held on January 21, 2022, officiated by Rev. Charles Gattis. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers. Wade loved his country, and was proud his dad was a Marine who served in WWII.
