George "Pete" W. Dyess II

Pete was a Huntsville native who grew up on Monte Sano Mountain. He retired from the Missile & Space Intelligence Center in 2012. He loved working in the yard and building things in his workshop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Wesley and Norma Waller; sister, Debi Satterfield; and sister-in-law Donna Jean Bertoldi.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Silena Wynne Dyess; his son Christopher and wife, Ali; his daughter Britney Reed and husband, Michael; his sister Dauna Connell and husband, Randy; and his sister-in-law Linda Teetz. Seven grandchildren: Logan Dyess and Makayla, Hannah Dyess, Preston and Paige Brooks, Caroline Reed, Jenna Reed, Braden Reed, and Colt Reed. Two great- grandchildren: Ivy Dyess and Amberlynn Brooks. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Logan Dyess, Michael Bertoldi, Zachary Deen, Evan Gronberg, Braden Reed, and Killian Davis.

The visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Valhalla Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Larry Inman officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow.
