Gertie Viola Creasy

GERTIE VIOLA CREASY June 15, 1930 – October 5, 2016 Gertie Creasy, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Creasy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Arnett and Henrietta Olive Arnett; and her loving husband of 50 years, Arvel M. Creasy. Left to cherish her precious memory is her 2 daughters, Sonya O’Shields (Richard) of Madison, and Deborah Dean (Eddie) of Ft. Payne, AL; her 2 sons, Philip Creasy (Brenda) of Hazel Green and Brian Creasy of Auburn, AL; her brother, Glen Arnett of Florence; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of great nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends. Gertie was an avid cook who always had good meals, she also liked to sew and garden. She enjoyed working in the yard and always had a nice looking one. She loved her family and life and liked to keep things simple. She was a long time member at Trinity United Methodist Church but attended most recently at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Madison. Gertie Creasy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her! There will be a private graveside service held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel of Love.
