

Harvey Leonard Robinson was born in Birmingham, Alabama, July 16, 1926. He departed his life on January 1, 2023. He was the son of the late James E. Sr. and Hixie Robinson. Harvey was preceded in death by siblings; Anna Traylor, James E. Robinson Jr, Thelma Joiner and Christine Gibson; nephews, Walter C. Jones Jr., and Derek Robinson; nieces, Debra Baker and Valda Robinson.
He was a product of the Birmingham public school system. He attended Patterson Elementary and A. H. Parker High School. He spent 2 yrs at Talladega College after his honorable service in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Alabama A&M University with a post-secondary degree. He was a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Harvey was a professor at Florida A&M University for 18 yrs. He later retired as Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial Technology at Alabama A&M University, Huntsville, Alabama. He leaves to cherish his memories, his nephews and nieces, James E. Robinson lll (Olinda) of Inkster, Michigan, Yvonne Young of Gardenia, California, Wanda Glover (Ted) of Birmingham, Alabama, Marcia Major (Ronald) of Tucker, Georgia, Michelle Robinson McQueen (Forest) of Southfield, Michigan, William Joiner (Clara) of Inkster, Michigan; a special cousin, Walladean Streeter (Bobby) of Birmingham, Alabama and a host of relatives and friends.
Over the years, Harvey mentored and inspired others of all ages. Harvey Leonard Robinson was a force to be reckoned with. He was a man who loved to dress for success. He was a distinguished philosopher, fitness fanatic and sometimes jokester. He will truly be missed.
