Dr. J. Will Baker, DDS was born August 28, 1934 to Grover Cleveland and Lela Baker at their home in Three Brothers, Arkansas. The second of five children, J. Will grew up with his older sister Jeanette, younger sisters Frances and Josephine, and little brother Grover. After high school he joined the Air Force, where he was stationed in Anchorage, AK. It was here that he met Grace Bergvall whom he later married. J. Will and Grace started their family of three; Tami, Timmy and Tommy in Loma Linda, CA. After completing dental school there, the family moved to Huntsville, AL, where he started his practice in 1967. Dr. Baker loved to sing and would do so while working on patients teeth. He was a part of a Barber Shop Quartet, and also directed the Huntsville Central Seventh-day Adventist Church Choir. His wife Grace, who also managed the dental office, succumbed to cancer in 1997. A year later, J. Will found love again and married Mary Fox of New Smyrna Beach, FL where he would later "retire" to. As an avid motorcyclist he logged over 250,000 miles including two trips from Alabama to Alaska and back. On Saturday, Dr. Baker was riding a three wheel motorcycle with his best buddy Carl Williams when he collided with the guard rail, causing the bike to tumble. He was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital where he later died.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Fox Baker, three children, four step children, his sisters, Jeanette and Josephine, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, his staff and thousands of patients who will miss him dearly.
